‘Tis the season of sequins, metallics, and glitter. Metallic finishes have also made a comeback into this year’s trends from shoes to bags to even items of clothing.
I stumbled upon this Lauren by Ralph Lauren metallic sweater and was instantly trying to conjure up outfits in my head:
Sure, it could always work on the weekend, but is it as versatile for the workplace? I think it is a great layering piece and when paired with the traditional conservative career-wear, it is certainly appropriate for the office. It also does not necessarily have to be associated with the holidays either; it can add little bit of edge to an outfit and be worn well after the holiday season has passed.
Refrain from wearing a metallic sweater with big statement necklaces or other pieces of clothing with sequins or other metallic textures for the office to avoid the risk of blinding a colleague with your reflective wear.
