After an array of respectable iPhone deals this Black Friday, Samsung is taking the lead with the best discounts for Cyber Monday.
A raft of retailers - including Microsoft - are offering excellent discounts for unlocked Samsung phones and some decent contract deals too. There’s even a couple Google Pixel deals towards the end of the article, which, if you've been following my Black Friday coverage, is unusual.
Before you buy anything, don’t forget to check out my short, sharp comparisons between the iPhone X and Google Pixel below.
Samsung
Rehashing its Black Friday deals, Best Buy is offering up to $350 off the latest Galaxy and Note range with a contract. Be sure to check the details first, though, because these money-off deals typically mean some kind of monthly pay-back scheme over the course of the contract. Best Buy also has a50% money back deal via Sprint.
For those that don’t want to be tied to a contract, Walmart has a straight $200 straight off the Galaxy S7. $299 for last year’s excellent Galaxy S7 is a solid deal.
Samsung is continuing its Black Friday deal with up to $400 off the Galaxy Note 8, S8 and S8+ when another phone is traded in.
Amazon, as far as I can see, has the one of the best Samsung Note 8 and Galaxy S8 deals this Cyber Monday with $150 off all unlocked devices. I’d pick these up before they go.
iPhone
What about the iPhone? Buying an iPhone X is difficult enough without trying to get a small discount too.
Walmart has a measly $50 off the iPhone 7 and you’ll find an even smaller $35 off the iPhone 8 at Ebay.
The most eye catching deal is one that’s often repeated in most major retailers and almost every year, which is a gift card + device. For this Cyber Monday I can only see Best Buy offering a $250 gift card with an iPhone X , however,(be sure to read the fine print first) when a contract is taken out.
Google Pixel
Aside from some very impressive deals on its smart speaker technology, Google’s phones have barely featured this holiday season. That’s about to change for Cyber Monday, though.
T-Mobile is offering the latest Pixel phones (Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL) with $300 off when you trade in and, obviously, switch to T-Mobile. As ever, check the fine print and see how that $300 discount is applied and what you’ll actually be paying.
Finally, for the original Pixel, there’s $100 off the unlocked device at NewEgg, which brings it down to $699. But, at that price, you might be better off buying one of the cheap unlocked Samsungs at Amazon or Microsoft.
It’s also worth going back through my Black Friday coverage as many deals will still be alive, and it might be your last chance to pick up those deals before Cyber Monday officially kicks off.
